7 Major Analyst Upgrades: Boeing, Microsoft, UPS and More!

Wall Street just upgraded 7 stocks with strong upside even as the S&P500 is within 1% of its all-time high!

The news flow has created much volatility in 2026. Even with all of the macroeconomic and geopolitical risks, the S&P 500 is still within 1% of its all-time high. Wall Street generally sees stocks continuing to do well ahead. Now there are seven key analyst upgrades on August 3 with projected upside that may be too big to ignore.

Oggonomics tracks the flow of daily analyst upgrades, downgrades and initiations to find new ideas and overlooked opportunities for long-term investors and short-term traders alike. While no single analyst report should ever be the sole basis to buy or sell a stock, what happens when investors see projected upside of 15%, 20% or even more to the published price targets?

Many blue chip stocks have either sold off or have catalysts that could drive their shares higher. That’s what is behind these top analyst calls this Monday — big analyst upgrades or big analyst price target hikes. Just don’t forget that analysts can get their thesis wrong, and their upgrades never come with assured gains or money-back guarantees even when they are forecasting large upside ahead.

Investors who go outside of ETFs and funds need to keep in mind that the market is really a market full of stocks rather than just a stock market. Not all stocks are created equally. These were the top seven analyst upgrades seen for August 3, 2026.

BOEING TO FLY HIGHER!?!

Boeing (BA) saw a rare “double upgrade” on Monday after BNP Paribas raised Boeing to Buy from Sell in a two-notch upgrade. The aerospace giant had previously closed at $216.54 and has a 52-week range of $176.77 – $254.35. Boeing’s consensus analyst price target is $270. BNP Paribas sees renewed momentum in plane orders and is looking past the recent rise in fuel prices that can be catastrophic for profits in anything to do with stocks tied to flights (even on plane orders if airlines feel higher prices may be a ‘new normal’).

NEW SCHWAB HIGHS?

Charles Schwab (SCHW) may be heading to new all-time highs with nearly 30% implied upside if Compass Point is correct in its analysis. Schwab was started with a Buy rating and a $135 price target at the firm after closing at $105.24 ahead of the call. Its 52-week range is $83.96 – $107.50. Compass Point believes that agentic trading can reduce Schwab’s cash sorting overhang and believes that AI disruption concerns may be mitigated here. It even sees the new offering potentially replacing its interest income with recurring subscription fees — and cutting its interest rate sensitivity.

AFTER THE CORNING SELL-OFF

Corning (GLW) was raised to Buy from Hold at Truist. While the firm’s new price target of $175 is lower than the prior $205 price target, Truist sees the most recent sell-off as a buying opportunity for those who previously missed the run up at a more reasonable entry point after losing nearly half its value. Corning previously closed at $138.25 and has a 52-week range of $62.65 – $271.78.

HERE DOGGIE!

Datadog, Inc. (DDOG) was given a rare pre-earnings target hike just three days before it reports. Cantor Fitzgerald reiterated its Overweight rating but handily raised its price target to $327 from $226. Datadog previously closed at $267.97 and has a 52-week range of $98.01 – $278.76. This certainly doesn’t assure a “beat and raise” earnings report, but the firm wouldn’t have gone almost $50 over the consensus analyst price target if the firm is worried about a train wreck.

MICROSOFT IS BACK!?!

Microsoft Corporation (MSFT) has recovered handily from its 2026 lows over AI concerns, with a monster rally after its earnings report. Goldman Sachs has now added Microsoft to its US Conviction List in the monthly updates of coverage. The firm already has a Buy rating and a $640 price target that is about $80 higher than the consensus price target. The firm sees Microsoft ideally positioned ahead as AI shifts from infrastructure into making AI work in large enterprises. Microsoft previously closed at $464.72 and has a 52-week range of $349.20 – $553.72.

PROTO LABS

Proto Labs, Inc. (PRLB) was raised to Buy from Hold with an $87 price target at Needham & Co. after yet another “beat and raise” report after record revenues were seen. The firm also sees even more double-digit growth ahead for the custom parts digital manufacturer. Proto Labs previously closed at $75.05 and has a 52-week range of $42.84 – $83.15.

UPS

United Parcel Service, Inc. (UPS) is not the favorite stock in Wall Street’s transportation and shipping views. Goldman Sachs has just added UPS to its prized Conviction List, while maintaining a Buy rating with a $132 price target. The firm believes that UPS is finally getting back to a point of more sustainable revenue growth and profit growth after seeing eroding fundamentals in recent years. This is after earnings saw a sell-off even after UPS raised guidance and talked about a continued strategic shift toward higher-margin operations. UPS previously closed at $104.22 and has a 52-week range of $82.00 – $122.41. Its consensus analyst price target is right at $116.
