Strategic or Dreaming… Verint Systems Stock Could Double!?!

Verint Systems Inc. (NASDAQ: VRNT) is a stock that “could nearly double.” That statement comes with absolutely no guarantees nor any assurances. In fact, that statement is not even the opinion of Oggonomics — it’s a rounded-up forecast by Rosenblatt Securities, and the firm now appears to have the most bullish price target for this AI-winner.

Rosenblatt Securities issued a Buy rating and assigned a $40 price target for Verint on Friday. Catharine Trebnick is the analyst behind the call and her $40 price target is above and beyond the $28 consensus analyst target price.

Please read the disclaimers and other data below before making any decisions to buy, sell or avoid this stock. All analyst data has been summarized and assigned to each firm named in this report. A chart has also been added for investors to review.

WHAT VERINT OFFERS?

Verint is deemed to be an AI-winner because of its growth in the customer experience automation sector within the AI theme. The company claims to have 10,000 customers spread over 175 countries.

The drive for Verint’s customer experience automation (CX) helps its corporate and enterprise customers manage and automate customer interactions in call/contact centers, back office, at branches, on websites and in mobile apps. One key aspect is also for agent copilot bots and analytics that helps drive down service time and interaction time to save on expenses per interaction and to potentially increase revenues.

Verint’s most recent release of its Genie Bot was said to offer customers millions of dollars in business value in applying agentic AI to “CX automation.”

Its last earnings report in June also sent shares soaring by 15% for its largest one-day percent gain of 2025, on a day when both the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite indexes were marginally lower. That earnings release also noted that subscription annual recurring revenue (ARR) rose by 6.3% to $710 million in the quarter, offering greater visibility ahead. And its AI ARR within that larger figure had risen by 24% to $354 million of the total.

And for this year (Fiscal 2026), Verint’s forecast was for revenues of $960 million and adjusted earnings of $2.93 per share. The company also forecast that subscription ARR would rise 8% to $768 million for the year. Those figures were all slightly above consensus expectations at the time.

REASONABLE VALUATIONS/GUIDANCE

Verint Systems’ market cap is only about $1.2 billion. It is also deemed to be reasonably valued compared to other AI/automation stocks. Its slower growth and an already-wide penetration (10,000 customers in 175 countries) seem to be the reason for the valuation multiples below.

The consensus analyst outlook is for modest sales growth of roughly 5% to $959 million in 2026 (current Fiscal Year) and $1.01 billion in 2027. Wall Street also has a very modest valuation against earnings as consensus estimates are $2.93 per share in 2026 and $3.20 per share in 2027. Dan Bodner, CEO & Chairman of Verint Systems, said with the earnings release in June:

“The combination of a strong first quarter and a growing pipeline for our AI-powered solutions gives us confidence that we are on track to achieve our annual targets and exit the year with 8% year-over-year ARR growth… Behind our strong AI momentum are two key differentiators. First, our ability to transform the latest AI technology into strong, tangible AI business outcomes, delivering customer value better than any other CX vendor. And second, our ability to deploy AI in a hybrid cloud model, layering our AI-powered bots on top of existing customer environments…”

Verint was deemed a pandemic winner because its ability to help smooth the process for customer support operations when the entire business world was in a Work-from-Home mode. Its stock even rose from $20 to over $50 all in 2020, but since 2022 Verint’s stock price has slid. Its current price is right at $21.00 and its 52-week range is $14.15 to $37.31.

WHAT OTHER ANALYSTS HAVE FORECAST

While the new Street-high price target is much higher, a $40 price target was seen earlier in 2025. Back in early-June, both Wedbush Securities (Outperform) and Needham & Co. (Buy) maintained their $30 price targets. Both firms had trimmed their upside price targets in March during the market malaise, with Wedbush trimming its target from $38 and Needham trimming its target from $40 at that time.

Two other more reasonable price targets were seen in July as well. On July 2, Evercore ISI maintained its Hold rating with a $23 price target (versus $21.44 at the time). And on July 1, TD Cowen had maintained its Buy rating and a $33 price target (versus a prior $19.00 close).

COULD VERINT BE BUYOUT BAIT?

One additional driving force that may assist in this most aggressive price target is that Verint could potentially be an acquisition target. There had been a rumor in the last month in a Bloomberg report that private equity firm Thoma Bravo was in talks to acquire the company in a go-private transaction. Verint’s stock trading volume spiked up to 7.25 million shares on July 1 and then rose to over 11.8 million shares on July 2.

As is typical in reports of that nature, there were no assurances that a deal would be reached. No additional reporting has confirmed those would-be rumors since that time.

OPTIONS & SHORT INTEREST

Verint only has monthly put and call options, which makes hedging and speculating even more difficult for investors. The entire open interest in the closest 7 strike prices from July through December is not even 10,000 contracts among all puts/calls in that screen — implying that not even 1 million shares are being hedged or speculated upon via stock options.

Verint’s average daily trading volume is close to 1.5 million shares. Its most recent short interest data was 10.24 million shares, listed as 7.4 days to cover and about 17% of its float.

DISCLAIMERS

Oggonomics always reminds investors that no single analyst report should ever be the sole basis used to buy or sell a stock. That is particularly true when evaluating the “street-high” price target versus other bullish analyst price targets. Investors should understand that analysts sometimes get their thesis and outlook wrong and that company fundamentals (and sector and economic risks) can change in an instant.

Oggonomics does not issue any formal ratings and does not maintain any price target of its own for Verint Systems. Interpretations of analyst calls vary from investor to investor, hence the high short interest despite “rumors” about a potential takeover.

No analyst ratings and their price targets, even those with the strongest conviction or strongest pessimism, ever come with any guarantees of profits. Analysts reports also never have money-back guarantees in the event that investors lose money.
